A water based wax solution for sealing the ends of timber.
Description
End Seal is an emulsified paraffin wax used to the seal the ends of freshly cut timber to slow down the drying process and reduce the risk of the timber splitting.
It can also be used on work-in-progress that is being left unfinished where there is a risk of the timber splitting.
Apply it liberally, normally by brush but it can be sprayed if needed, usually to the smallest surface of the timber which will normally be the end grain where moisture is most likely to escape from. Sealing the surface will encourage the moisture to escape via the larger areas which will result in a slower exit.

I have three large logs/branches and some smaller branches which all need drying out. I have used neat pva and a pva/ water mix 50/50 andall started to split ,i have also used melted candle wax. No good. Then i used chestnut endseal that i purchased from the swindon weekender, absolutrly spot on . So my advice to everybody is don’t use all the crazy alternatives just get some endseal from chestnut and us that because it works. Apply with a brush and make a cup of tea job done

Very good for sealing bowl blanks and good value when buying 5ltrs

Just applied it to a tree that was felled and cut up. I will be applying multilevel coats to be safe, but on reflection the 1st coat looks like it could be sufficient.
